‘Call Of Duty’ debuts as 360 number one (Call Of Duty: World at War)

WW2 shooter Call Of Duty: World At War makes its debut at the top of the 360 chart, knocking Gears Of War 2 down to second.

Activision’s Guitar Hero: World Tour climbs six places from nine to complete the top three, following the release of the complete band edition.

The only other new entry into the top ten is free-running FPS title Mirror’s Edge, which debuts at nine.

$28 Million NFLPA Verdict Reveals Details of EA’s Madden Monopoly (Madden NFL 08)

GamePolitics writes: "I’ve been complaining (some might say whining) since 2005 that EA’s exclusive arrangement with the NFL is, at best, a bad deal for gamers.

At worst, it’s a monopoly.

Ultimately, the Federal Trade Commission, looked at the Madden issue in relation to EA’s merger dance with Take-Two Interactive. But, inasmuch as the FTC pre-approved the EA-T2 deal, its regulators apparently came down against the monopoly view."

Square Enix was quick to issue a lengthy statement to the effect that it was very much alive. Who’s right? After looking at the situation, it seems likeliest that Crystal Bearers isn’t dead — but that much like so many other Square Enix projects, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for it to ship."

He added tweaking game play mechanics is just part of the equation and this audience is \”is just as interested in games that do well on other systems–but, to date, publishers have been reticent to bring those to the Wii.\”
