Jeremy Chubb, the Producer at Criterion Games posts on PlayStation blog:

"We’re working flat out to bring you yet another free content pack for Burnout Paradise – and this one’s the Bike Pack!

If you missed our recent posts, we’re trying something new with downloadable content this year. We want to completely change the game we brought you back in January with regular game changing updates. That means more than just a couple of cars and a new level.

For the first time in a Burnout game, we’re bringing you motorcycles. We’ve already talked about the 2 bikes available from Day 1 and some of the bike-specific gameplay that’s on the way, but there’s more to this pack than that. We’re introducing night time to the streets of Paradise City and with it, some unique gameplay."

From GAMER.tm: "Gamers in Belgium and Holland will be paying more than other European countries for Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts and Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, due to the cost of translating both games.

"While both titles are widely expected to go on sale for around EUR 39 in most major markets, it seems that gamers in Holland and Belgium will be paying EUR 59 for Pinata 2 and Banjo Nuts & Bolts respectively.

"When asked by Dutch site Perfect-Rare why this was the case, a Microsoft Benelux spokesperson blamed the cost of translating both games and the relative size of both markets for the decision."

Dyack mum on Eternal Darkness IP ownership

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Filed under:

In the final part of our three-part interview with Silicon Knights president Denis Dyack one of the biggest questions lingering in our mind was the ownership debate regarding the Eternal Darkness IP. Some say Nintendo is the sole owner of the name, some say they were simply the publishers.

While Denis agreed that the question is one they have never answered in the past, he still kept silent on the answers. “”It’s a complicated question with a complicated answer and we’re not answering that question.”

However Dyack surprised us by stating that Silicon Knights still has a “silent partner” in Nintendo when discussing Eternal Darkness but reiterates that nothing has ever been announced for a sequel to the famed horror title.

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Earlier on this month, 2K Sports delayed (without explanation thus far) Don King Presents: Prizefighter for the Nintendo Wii. Originally planned for release next month, the Balance Board-supported title has now been pushed back until March 2009.

Such a long delay led many to believe that the Nintendo Wii build was destined for the trash can (particularly as the Xbox 360 version wasn’t received brilliantly), but a 2K Sports message board admin has now confirmed that it is still in the works, albeit with a different publisher or developer (it isn’t too clear which) at the helm.
